Our National Music Is the Best.
When he met some creative workers and artistes in the film sector one day in April 1968, Chairman Kim Jong Il said that he liked the song We Sing of Our Boundless Happiness, the theme song of a film because it was graceful and rich in national sentiment and emphasized that it was a policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea to give priority to the development of the national music.
He said that the Party was giving priority to the national music, because it could express the ideological sentiment of the Koreans in a delicate way and the Koreans liked it as it had embodied the sentiments unique to them while developing through a long time. Then he continued: As the national music is more delicate than European music, it can express the life wonderfully; and it is also the best in expressing the elegant feeling.
Hearing him, the creative workers and artistes clearly realized that the secret of creating good works lies in preserving and boosting the good qualities of the nation.
