Flower of Revolutionary Army

The following happened one day in March 1941, when the Korean People's Revolutionary Army was fighting the arduous anti-Japanese war under the leadership of Kim Il Sung.
After the dinner, a revolutionary song contest was held by company and platoon. At the competition, he said that the next day, March 8, was Women’s Day, international holiday for women, adding that on the occasion he extended warm congratulations and glory to the women, vanguard fighters of the Korean women and flower of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army, on behalf of the headquarters of the KPRA.
There was a burst of applause.
Then he said: In order to carry out the tasks for social emancipation of women, we should establish a social system which could guarantee social emancipation of women; only when Japanese imperialists’ colonial rule and remnants of feudalism that caused all sorts of social evils were eliminated and a new society and socialist system in which the people became masters was established, could the problem of emancipation of women be ultimately solved.
The women guerrillas were excited with great emotion.
There were women laughing with joy and wiping tears.
Though their ages and careers were different, they were all vanguard fighters of the Korean women valued and put forward by Kim Il Sung and flowers of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army.
