Source of Invincible Strength
On February 8, 1973, Chairman Kim Jong Il sat together with a commanding officer of the Korean People’s Army and conveyed to him what President Kim Il Sung said in the speech he made in the banquet held in celebration of the 25th founding anniversary of the Korean People’s Army.
Kim Jong Il said: The anti-Japanese guerrillas dedicated without hesitation even their lives to safeguard the headquarters during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle; they were loyal to their commander not because of they thought he would become a head of state after the liberation of their country but because they cherished in their hearts the iron truth that the Korean revolution would emerge victorious only when the revolutionary ranks were rallied firmly around the leader based on only one idea; the anti-Japanese guerrillas could achieve the historic cause of national liberation by going through all trials and hardships and fighting against the Japanese imperialists as the revolutionary ranks brimmed with the ennobling trait of revolutionary comradeship; as the Comrade Kim Il Sung said, unity based on revolutionary comradeship is the source of invincible strength of the People’s Army and a guarantee for all its victories.
His words meant that the entire army could achieve steel-like unity around Kim Il Sung and always emerge victorious in the fight against the enemy only when it continue to display the ennobling trait of revolutionary comradeship.
