Share Weal and Woe with People
One August day in 2020, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un inspected typhoon-stricken areas in South Hwanghae Province.
After looking round the damaged paddy and non-paddy fields for hours, he said to the accompanying officials: The scale of damage caused by typhoon No. 8 is smaller than I expected. I worried a lot. Now I feel it is fortunate that the fields have been damaged to that extent. The agricultural sector should minimize reduction in yields by making a correct examination of crop damage and taking measures for improving their growth in cooperation with the agricultural science institutions.
And he stressed: It is one of top-priority tasks to be surely carried out by our Party to go deep among the people to share weal and woe with them, encourage and sincerely help them when they are in trouble and feel difficult. The Party Central Committee should always be with them when they are in happy times or bad.
Looking up to him, the officials realized more clearly that it is the duty of officials, the leading members of the revolution, to get closest to the people both in happy and hard times and share weal and woe with them.
