“Pains for the Sake of the People Are Worth Taking”
Chairman Kim Jong Il made tireless efforts to bring happiness to the people, always making super-intense field-guidance trips.
The following happened one day in August 2009.
While talking with an official, Kim Jong Il said: Now that the last of dog days has passed, we have probably survived this year’s sultry weather; several days ago I said that the last of dog days is followed by five blessings; by that I meant the happiness which our people will enjoy.
Hearing him, the official felt quite encouraged. It was because the bright future of the country was explicitly reflected in what he said.
Looking back, Kim Jong Il had undergone so many trials to bring about the present reality. Under his leadership the country had finished the Arduous March and the forced march with victory and was now advancing full of vigour towards the building of a powerful socialist country.
Looking at the official immersed in deep emotion, Kim Jong Il said: It is the objective and worth of my life to devotedly work for the building of a prosperous country and the happiness of the people; you are worrying about my continuous filed guidance trip in hot days; but I am ready to continue to do so for the prosperity of the country and happiness of the people; pains for the sake of the people are worth taking.
Indeed, he had devoted his all to the happiness of the people, regarding his sufferings for the people as his pleasure and worth of his life.
The Korean people will never forget the great revolutionary career of Kim Jong Il who loved the people so ardently and devoted his all to their happiness and the ever-lasting prosperity of country.
