We Should Carry It Forward
On the morning of February 17, 1981 Chairman Kim Jong Il, on his tour for on-the-spot guidance, told his accompanying officials a significant story.
Once President Kim Il Sung called an official on the phone to ask how the construction project of the Taean Chicken Farm was going ahead, and he immediately left for the construction site. On arriving at the site the President, looking round the place with an official in charge of the project, told him how to complete the work at an early date. In this way a modern chicken farm went up in Taean some time later.
Telling the story Kim Jong Il asked what time of the day it was when the President visited the construction site.
When none of the officials could answer him, Kim Jong Il said it was early in the morning, and went on to say: Who do you think should carry forward the early morning tour of the leader? It’s just we that should carry it forward. Now let’s get started again.
With a will to follow the early morning road of the President to the end, Chairman Kim Jong Il was always on the early morning tour.
