Birthday Spread to a Centenarian in Chollima District

Across the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the number of centenarians is increasing, a fact that brings pleasure to the great socialist family.
This testifies to the validity of the Workers’ Party of Korea’s and the government’s policies for the promotion of the people’s health and the improvement of their well-being.
Most recently, So Ok Sun turned 100, a woman resident in Neighbourhood Unit No. 13 of Chonnae-dong, Chollima District, Nampho. On her 100th birthday she received a spread from the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
Officials of the district Party committee visited her house to congratulate her on the occasion.
An ordinary citizen, who had rendered no distinguishable services to the country, was moved to tears by the benevolent care shown for her.
Before Korea’s liberation she was born into a poor peasant family and lived in abject poverty as a member of a ruined nation. Yet, after General Kim Il Sung won back the country, she led a happy life.
Having lost some of her relatives during the Korean war, she was looked after by the Party. In order to repay it for its benevolent care, she worked hard and, even after retirement, did everything she could for the development of the country.
Her relatives, who were present at her birthday party, hardened their resolve to hand the glory of the day down through the generations and work with patriotic zeal to implement the Party’s ambitious plans for regional transformation and major innovations of the new era.
